It's Katara from Avatar: the Last Airbender! I never thought that I (female college grad) would like a cartoon marketed for 7-year-old boys so much... but it's wonderful! I recommend it for anyone who might like a fantasy with interesting and likable characters, no matter what age!

I imagine that this picture takes place sometime after Katara's mother's death, but before she finds Aang. She's just playing around with what she's good at and enjoys doing to make herself feel better... none of us artist types do anything like that. Nope, not us.

In other news, next time someone asks me what superpower would I like to have and why, my answer will be, "manipulate the element water with magical tai chi, because it's SO COOL!"

Katara and Avatar belong to the good people at Nickelodeon.
